14-19 Home / Practitioners / ESF Projects ESF Projects in South LondonESF 14-16 Vocational Qualification Programme - This is a 2 year programme for pupils in Years 10 and 11 leading to a Level 1 (GCSE grades D – G) qualification in one of five vocational areas. The vocational areas which are Care, Construction, Motor Vehicle Engineering, Catering and Retail have been selected on the basis of locally identified skill shortage sectors. The qualifications are all recognised for purposes of school performance tables.
ESF 14-16 Curriculum Project (Taster Programme) - This project is aimed at reducing the number of young people post 16 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). The Taster programme is a one year programme for year 11 pupils only. On Track, In Learning offers 16-19 year olds who are identified as at risk of being unsuccessful in the job market, the programme offers 1:2 and workshop activities that will lead to training, education or work. AimHigher encourages and supports 16-17 year-old school leavers to reach their full potential and to aim higher. Breaking the Cycle progresses young people from unemployment to positive outcomes. Going All The Way provides advice; guidance and support to young people aged 16-19 in post compulsory education who are at risk of being unsuccessful in the job market. Touch Base engages young people aged 16-19 in a programme of personal and skills development activities to overcome barriers preventing take-up of learning, work and volunteering opportunities. Deaf Youth Activities & Training increases young deaf peoples employability, opportunities and confidence through social groups, leadership training, skills and information sharing. In Touch provides young refugees who have been granted leave to stay in the UK language support, improvement in basic skills and equip them with job hunting resources. Amber improves the basic skills of individuals with learning difficulties e.g. refugees, asylum seekers or recent migrants. Motivations provide a programme of alternative curriculum for students in years 9, 10 and 11, who are, or at risk of being excluded from school. Positive Options provides an advice, guidance and support service to disadvantaged young people aged 13-16. Getting the most out of work related learning develops a structured programme of advice and guidance on work-related learning for young people aged 16-19 from Connexions priority groups. Step Ahead is a key Stage 4 Careers, Personal and Social Education programme for young people who are outside mainstream education. South London PAYP Plus provides innovative term time activities for those most at risk, to enable them to access mainstream programmes. 9UP will support Year 9 pupils before and after they make their curriculum choices. Threshold Housing and Life Options offers specialist advice and support to targeted groups of excluded young people. Moving On Plus targets young people who are unable to sustain engagement within the PRU by delivering innovative provision and design individual packages of learning support. Out of School PA supports 13-16 year old not in education, employment or training young people and prepares them for re-integration into education. Streetwise mobile advice service offers young people advice and representation on homelessness, benefit entitlement, social services provision, education and employment. Empowerment works with NEET/at risk of becoming NEET, jovenile offenders offering key work and delivering services that assess their developmental needs. Plus Stragegy Co-ordinator is to make Croydon a Champion Site under the PLUS Strategy, and engage young people in education or training at the end of their court order. Platform for Progression is designed to support young people, mainly travellers, teenage mothers, those not in education or employment, and unable to progress into learning or employment without support. Developing Young People through Voluntary Action is designed to build the capacity of voluntary and community groups to work with hard to reach young people. Fully Qualified to make Connexions enables Connexions Personal Advisors to achieve an NVQ4 qualification in LDSS. Measuring Soft Outcomes assesses and evaluates the current and existing tools that are used to measure soft outcomes for young people aged 13-19. Evaluation of the ESF Co Financing Programme is to evalulate and assess the impact of ESF funded providers against their delivery plans and the effect that the programme has had on beneficiaries.
