About Us
The Croydon 14-19 Partnership was set up as a result of the inspection of Croydon's educational provision for 14-19 year-olds. Our aim is to broaden and improve opportunities for these students by expanding post 16 provision; broadening choice at 14-16; and developing 14-19 progression pathways. Funded by the Learning and Skills Council the partnership works with Croydon Local Education Authority, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Work Based Learning Providers and the Connexions service to meet this aim.
The partnership:
- Designs and coordinates alternative educational programmes for 14 - 16 year olds who benefit from 'learning through doing' outside of the school environment.
- Facilitates networks of schools and colleges working together to improve standards and create more learning opportunities for Croydon's 14-19 year olds.
- Advises schools on aspects of work related learning
- Promotes work based learning routes amongst young people and employers in Croydon.
- Coordinates the publication of Croydon’s post 16 applications booklet
- Helps schools to implement new vocational courses to meet the needs of their students.
- Builds links between schools/colleges and businesses to enrich the curriculum and make their students more aware of the business world.
